2025 Golf Fore Club Kids Championship Tournaments

21st Annual Bemidji & 1st Annual Blackduck
The Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area raise over $63,000 from hosting TWO Golf Tournaments this year

Two golf tournaments supporting the Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area, one at the Bemidji Town and Country Club and another at the Blackduck Municipal Golf Course, raised a combined $63,000 for local kids.

The first tournament, held on August 20th at the Bemidji Town and Country Club, was the 21st Annual Golf Fore Club Kids Championship. The event included 92 golfers and the money raised will go to support year-round programs for hundreds of youth at the Club’s locations: its Bemidji Clubhouse, a branch at J.W. Smith Elementary, and a Blackduck Branch.

Winning the Bemidji tournament were Anika Ohnstad and Larry Kent. Second place went to Ryan Welle and Travis Barnes, and Third place to Andy Gregg and Tony Warno.

The second golf tournament took place on August 29th at the Blackduck Municipal Golf Course with 54 golfers. This scramble was the first ever Boys & Girls Club Blackduck Golf Championship, and money raised goes directly to support the Club’s Blackduck Branch.

Winning the tournament was the team of Bryce Cloud, Michael Jourdain, Ira Spears, and Parker Bearstail. Second place went to Susie Rasmussen, Karl Erickson, Paul Iverson, and Rod Johnson. Third place went to Jason Tjader, Taylor Mickalson, Jake Caduff and Royal White.

Thank you to all of our incredible sponsors who make this annual event so successful, including our Masters Sponsor Mark Sand and Gravel and our Fairway Sponsor Bob Lowth Ford. A special thank you to our volunteers and golf committee, which has been chaired by Russ Moen for over 20 years.

2024 20th Annual Golf Fore Club Kids Championship

*Reaches Goal!*

In a fantastic showing for the Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area, the 20th Annual Golf Fore Club Kids Tournament raised over $60,000.

Held at the Bemidji Town & Country Club on Aug. 19, the tournament celebrated 20 years of community support for the Boys & Girls Club which will go to support year-round programs for the hundreds of youth who attend the Club. In the event’s 20 years it has raised over $550,000.

This year also honored long-time golfers who have been participating in the tournament for 10, 15 and 20 years. Among those honored was Russ Moen, who has chaired the Golf Committee since the event’s inception and has golfed in every tournament. Without his dedication, the event wouldn’t have become the successful community staple that it is.

“We couldn’t have done it without Russ,” said Andrea Kent, the Club’s executive director. “This event has made an incredible difference for our kids and for our whole community.”

Winning the tournament, Todd Moudry & Joel MacDonald. Congratulations also to our 2nd place team, Steve Kroger & Paul Snider, and 3rd place team, Todd Vonderhaar & Kevin Waldo.

Thank you to our Event sponsor Bob Lowth Ford and Masters sponsor Mark Sand & Gravel Co., as well as all of our Driving Range, Cart, Ace, Eagle, Birdie, Green, and Hole sponsors who make this event so successful year after year.

2023 19th Annual Golf Fore Club Kids Championship

We are so grateful for the support & participation in our 19th Annual Golf Fore Club Kids!

Special thank you to our Event sponsor, Bob Lowth Ford, Masters sponsor, Mark Sand & Gravel, and Driving Range sponsor, First National Bank of Bemidji! Plus, all our Ace, Eagle, Birdie, Green and Hole sponsors. Thanks also to the many volunteers and golf committee members who planned this event. YOU make this tournament possible! For the 19th consecutive year, Russ Moen chaired the Golf Committee, who led to this record-breaking total. With just under 100 golfers, over an astounding $60,000 was raised to support year-round programs for hundreds of youth at the Club. Thank you!

Winning the tournament for the first time were Jackson (age 11) & Mike Fogelson, son & father team. “To have Jackson, at such a young age, earn 1st place, while supporting our programming for Club kids – that is a win-win in our hometown community!” said Andrea Kent, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club. Congratulations also to our 2nd place team, Gary Rients & Bruce Nord, and 3rd place team, Heather Tverstol & Emily Aitken!
