Program Details

The Club will open its after-school program to children and teens in grades 1st-12th on a limited bases starting on September 7. Program hours for all age groups will be 2:40-6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Extended hours for teens will not be available at this time.

All Club members must be registered to attend. No drop-in attendance will be available under the COVID-19 operating protocols. Space will be limited, and school restrictions apply.

Due to space limitations and pandemic protocols, the Club will limit attendance to those youth whose schools have had the highest historical attendance rates. Schools included in this initial school-year opening are: J.W. Smith, Gene Dillon, Schoolcraft, Bemidji Middle School, Bemidji High School, TrekNorth, and Voyageurs Expeditionary. Cohort availability will depend on application numbers.

Priority acceptance will be given to those who commit to attend five days a week, children of essential workers, and current and previous Club members. Any remaining openings will be made available to those who commit to attend four days weekly, followed by three days and so on. Application does not guarantee acceptance as space will be limited.

Fees will be $125 per member, grades 1st-7th, and $25 per member, grades 8th-12th, for the school year, a rate made possible only through donor support as the true costs are substantially higher. Financial aid will be available on a limited basis, for those who qualify.

The Club will follow its COVID-19 operating protocols, which have been adopted based on the recommendations provided by the Center for Disease Control, the Minnesota Department of Health, Sanford Health, and Public Health. Group sizes will be kept at a 1:15 maximum staff-to-member ratio, each in separate spaces to minimize contact between groups. Depending on demand, the Club anticipates opening with a maximum of 90 children in the building at any one time. Enhanced cleaning protocols will be followed.
